That is a fine setup you have going there. The Incubator UQ looks real slick and warm. Nice hammock too. I look forward to the day my Incubator arrives.

Looks nice. I like the foot/head box idea, but I don't get the zipper... looks like it goes under you. (Emergency Exit?)

Do you find the head/footbox gives you a LOT more room? What's the original width to your fabric? I might just have to break out my thread injector and do this to mine!

    Glad you Like it TG!

That particular one has ALOT of down in it per the users request(read: 19oz). You will have a hard time being cold with that thing under you. You might have to consider being too warm in there. Don't want to wet it out! I would suggest that you could probably spread the down in a couple of places to even it out just a little but there is so much in there that I dont think you will notice much if it is a little uneven. It looks like it is fitting your DIY great!

And by the way, that is a SWEET looking hammock and I can not wait to scope it out at Mt Rogers. Very interesting!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments about my quilts. It always good to hear from a customer what they think.

When I added the head box it put a wall in the entry side. It was hard to get in and out! I added the zipper to take out the wall. The first try failed with a 14'' zipper. I added a 22" zipper and cut off a small piece of my strap and sewed it on about 18" across the zipper on the outside to hold the presser. That seems to work so far. I made this hammock smaller and it seems to work. The original width is 49" and 119" long. I'm 6' tall and it seems to fill nice and roomy. Thanks

Or you can find him here on hf under name of stormcrow, real name Adam. Really nice guy, will answer any questions you have. I got a winter ptarmigan uq from him and love it. Waiting for my burrow and know im gonna love it.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
