Rectangle or mummy shaped pad?

Which have you found to be better fitting, or comfortable in the hammock, rectangle or mummy shaped? I'm going with the sea to summit comfort plus insulated pad. Any suggestions?

I would suggest the rectangle one. You will need some pad overlap to help keep you warm.

Thanks Texas, I already bought the mummy shaped pad. I figured it was worth the weight savings. Right now it's summertime so I'll be able to get an underquilt before the cold weather hits.

i had an extra wide rectangle ccf pad that I cut into a mummy. I found that I just slept diagonal on the pad (head in one corner, feet in another), by making it a mummy I could set the pad in the hammock diagonally.

Before I cut it, i had alot of wasted pad on my right, but none on my left, my shoulder was right on the edge.

I sometimes use a Thermarest Backpacker 3/4 (mummy shape), with an Eno Hotspot to wrap around my shoulders. It's fairly warm down to ~30º, and packs down decently small. My main issue with full length pads is that you lose some of the sense of being cradled in the hammock. And a narrow pad, I'm just going to slip off of it. This solves both issues for me.

I'm using gathered end but for a bridge hammock, a rectangular pad would probably be ideal.
