Anyone hike/hang at Indian Cave State Park in Nebraska? I am looking at heading there in the next week or two.

Indian Cave is my family's go-to spot for both hiking and hanging. We have done trips where we have hiked less than 3 miles and others where we have hiked over 16. Lots of great spots, just some aren't as secluded since the trail winds around so much. Water access isn't great except along the river. We usually pack it in or melt snow if winter time. Any specific questions you had? I believe the April fool's video and maybe one other on my YouTube channel are from Indian Cave. For me, it is always worth the few hour drive.

This will be my first backpacking trip. Figured I'd end up somewhere back on the Hardwood Trail. Sounds like I need to carry in extra water.
It's just about a two hour drive for me so sounded like a good place to try out my backpacking gear.

We love it there. I agree on the water access though. We generally pack ours in. We are in Lincoln. Where are you all from?

I am in Papillion, and my brother that normally goes with me is in Blair. It is a little over two hours for us also, but well worth it. Let me know if any of you are planning a trip. Maybe we could meet up there.

I'm looking at either Memorial Day weekend, or the following weekend.

ICSP is a nice hike for sure. Stop by Kimmel Orchards in Nebraska City (just a touch north) for their famous Apple Cider Donuts and maybe stay a quick night at Lied Lodge...two of Nebraska's best-kept secrets along with the park.
I never have but have been meaning to try it. How is the hanging there?
