Easton Nanolite .344 poles on sale

Uncle Sams Retail Outlet has two 10 section, 13' tent poles shock corded for about $18. They're on sale for 25% off using the code "camp25". Should be great for pole modding tarps, taken apart or maybe left whole for a large outside superfly mod, which is what I want to try. Good price either way.

Good deal, but shipping is high.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

.. Or those are about right as is for a double inside mod as long as your tarp isn't over 10' or so wide.

They are having another 25% off sale until tomorrow with code "flash". These poles work as is for an internal double pole mod on the Super Fly. I did it using a piece of Dyneema running under the ridge line with two loops (one placed a few feet from each end) to keep the poles in position. The tarp ends up flat and I just used guy line tension to adjust the "arc" of the tarp. It turned the SF into a big awning. I just need to make some pole pockets to attach to the D-rings on the tarp, instead of sticking the pole ends into the D-ring attachment loops.
But for the grace of God, there, I go...

Sorry you guys missed it. I couldn't pass it up as they were like $12 before the highish shipping. I should have bought two sets at least, but didn't. I made a post on my pole mod here: https://hammockforums.net/forum/show...A-the-Ultrafly

Have any of you who were able to buy these poles made an attempt at resizing them? I was able to remove the end cap from one of the poles expecting to find the shock cord attached to it but it isn't. The shock cord is buried some w where in the section. Anything you can share is appreciated.

I didn't shorten mine. I intended to, but they were the right size. I assumed they were tied together as well.
