Offered an old Singer Sewing Machine. Worth it?

What is the model number (let us know and we can help search)? As other's have stated, that will be key to finding a replacement NEEDLE plate...not a foot plate.

I think you will find that machine will have some plastic gears in it which is not a problem unless/until one breaks. Since the price is right, see if you can find a new needle plate, stitch away and enjoy.

The model is 6268. I looked around and found a replacement needle plate (thanks for the clarification) on Sewingpartsonline.com for $7!.
