I was very skeptical about a hammock. As I am planning a bicycle trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I was weighing the sleeping options. Tents seem to have long poles they would make packing them difficult. So, I stopped by one of the Outfitter stores in the area. They had a hammock set up outside for customers to try. I tried it out, and I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was. So hammock it is, it packs up small, it is quick to set up, and I don't have to worry much about the terrain. Just two tree, is all you need. My trip is in August, but I already appreciate the posts in this forum, in helping to learn the does and the don't in hanging. thanks.
