    DIY Slug Sack.

Decided to make a large double ended stuff sack out of some RBTR leftovers. The purpose was to perform the same function as the lazy slug tube, but in double stuff form.

This sack is holding my SL hyperd 11+ foot hammock, a Gemini quilt system with tq and uq, a 2qzq protector, a baby hammock/hammock chair, a spare set of 6 foot straps, two extra 7 foot ucr's, and all of the hammock suspension(two 12 foot straps, buckles, and biners.)

I decided to use orange fabric attached using the jellyfish method for the pull cord. Keep me from losing it in the woods.

I was a little surprised it held everything. The size was determined by the scraps I had available. Super easy setup and takedown. Packs into the bottom of my pack easily. Managing a wet suspension will be a challenge, but I could always remove a wet suspension and pack it separate from the rest.

It isn't that much bigger than a hammock only stuffed sack. Consolidates all of my hanging gear into one sack. Hang it just like a hammock. Attach to one tree, walk to other tree, attach to other tree, done.

This will be a good summer setup. Probably won't work with bulky winter kit, but will try at that time.

Let me know what you think.

    Happy hanging!

I think it looks great. You slug tube/sack users are really causing me to re-think my setup/takedown process.. love the camp!

Thanks y'all. Really happy with the size of this combined setup. Easy peezy.

Hey think you could get us some measurements, length by width on that? Thanks Cabman!

Nice and simple. I like it. I usually strip of the suspension and stuff hammock, quilts, pillow and sleep gear into the pack liner. as I've usually got a lot of space in my pack but this is nice.

For a good Fellow like yourself, John.

    Here ya go.

About 21 long and 13 wide. Could go wider, but not longer, and still fit sideways in the pack.

Taking the suspension webbing off of the cinch buckles is necessary when wet. Then I just wrap em up with the tarp on top.

It is convenient, Brady. I can leave as little or as much bundled up with the hammock as wanted.

Just taking the extra step of removing the underquilt out of the equation is worth a minute or two of lollygag.
