I tried that yesterday when I had some time to fool around with it. I did get it off to the side, but I didn't feel real comfortable doing it and won't try it again. It felt like I was stretching/stressing the fabric. I also tried making a loop from paracord tied to the foot end suspension to drop the quilt a bit. I didn't have much time to lay like that, but I think it helped. One problem I foresee with that is if I get cool during the night I'll have to get out of the hammock to tighten up the quilt. If I had a Phoenix I can push it to the side and then pull it back if I get cool.

if you get cold often then i'd think you'd want to stop getting cold!?
I'm just saying I make my own hammocks (sheltowee hammocks - integrated insulation) and have got it pretty well dialed in at this point.
btw, i get the same feeling about stretching out my legs in bed... sometimes the dog likes to jump up and take my legs' spot in the night!

Ordered an Econ Phoenix 40 charcoal/black today!! I'll be using it with my Burrow 20 topquilt. My Burrow has the snapped footbox so I can unsnap it and use as a blanket or take it off and put it on my Blackbird shelf if I don't need it.
