    Hammock Chair

One of my first hammocks ended up with some pretty ugly stitch work and was way to short. To salvage it I've decided to make a hammock chair. As far as I can tell they are made just like a hammock only shorter. Am I missing anything? Anyone have a recommended length?

Google is your friend; also try a search here on HF. A quick search brings up at least a dozen web sites with DIY hammock chair directions, and some different ones here in the DIY forum. Just choose the style you want to make, and post a photo when you get it hanging!

That's a great use for an old hammock. My favorite chair measures 60 inches, plus hem allowances. They are indeed just a mini-hammock, but can be more versatile if you choose. Use a removable continuous loop and add some shock cord and tabs, and you have a pack cover also.

Nope you aren't missing a thing. I use a full size hammock with some mule tape and a few biners for my chair. Packs small and I keep it in the car. The mule tape holds up to 6X6's well.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

I have a recent post showing my design. You can check it out at wwwfeatherliteoutdoors.com.

I'm working on a "How To", but I have been working 7 days a weeks lately.
