I am very confused right now. It all seemed easy in my head.
I have a 4 foot x 7 foot bathtub style floor with 4" sides. I also have a 10.6'x 56" bug net with just the ridge line sewn into a channel with tarred bank line going through it.
I want to sew the ends of the net together, but in a way that it closes the end like a winter tarp. I want to sew this "winter" bugnet directly to the bathtub floor. I can't figure out how far in to measure for the cut on the ends. I need some math help here.
I marked the center of the sides on both, I was going to start sewing from the center and work my way all the way around. I'm afraid the ends will be very wrinkled and wadded up mess.
I have line loc's at each corner of the floor and a small d ring in the top inside ends of the ridgeline. My thinking was to run shock cord through the d ring down to the line locs so I could adjust the distance of the floor to the bottom of the hammock while inside. I have a 6' zipper already sewn into one bottom edge of the netting centered. It will be a one side entry either as a net tent or bugnet.
I did setup my winter tarp and hang this inside. I have plenty of room under my tarp for this to work. It's pouring out so I can't set it up and pin it to get it right.
So I have a 127"x56" double layer rectangle of netting that has to sew onto a 48"x84" rectangle. I hope this makes sense. I'm tired.
