CA > San Diego > Early June - Shake Down Overnight

I am looking for a good place to get a shake down overnight backpacking trip in around San Diego in the early June time frame. I have a backpacking trip scheduled to Yosemite in August, and want to try out my gear prior to the trip to get things dialed in. Any recommendations for a good overnight backpacking trip that is close to San Diego, that is hammock friendly?

Big goal of the trip is to get my new HG underquilt and the tarp I made tested out.

Palomar if you want a campground. PCT if you want to backpack. I just did an overnight on the Aqua Caliente Creek section just North of Warner Springs. Our troop did a section near Kitchen Creek Road. If you want cooler weather it's worth the drive and/ or tram to San Jacinto.
