Wildhorn Outfitters Outpost II Hammock Review...11 ft!!!

When I say the difference between an Outpost II hammock and it's price point competitors is 'night and day', I mean that literally! At 11 feet long and up to 7 feet wide, Utah based Wildhorn Outfitters put together an all in one hanging system that I would camp long term in. From end to end, this hammock was built with most of us in mind...light weight aluminum carabiners, integrated Amsteel and cinch buckle suspension system, length and width...they covered the bases...and all for under $50 ($45 right now on Amazon)!

I put together two videos for Wildhorn Outfitters, the first one is an unboxing and hang demonstration and the other is a one minute summary review. Enjoy and discuss!

Blows ENO out of the water. Thanks for posting. All it needs is a ridgeline (preference and easy to add) and it would be good to go.
“The word hammockable (Meaning: two trees that are the perfect distance apart between which a hammock can be hung) is not in the dictionary, but it should be.”

If I was going to go the route of the "Amazon" hammock, Wildhorn Outfitters would be my choice. They definitely put more thought into their product to differentiate it from the other ENO clones.

I agree...an adjustable ridgeline will be added soon.

I couldn't agree more! I mentioned this before, but I often wonder how many potential hammock campers get turned off after their first experience with hammocks of lesser quality. I probably would have fell into that category had I not done so much research here first before pulling the trigger on my first hammock...

Doesn't look like they use ripstop nylon, which is a huge negative in my book

You are correct! I contacted Wildhorn Outfitters and they confirmed that they use Taffeta nylon for their hammocks, which is a very common material for hammocks. I'm curious, why is it a huge negative in your opinion? From what I have been able to gather the main reason people use ripstop is a slight difference in weight and availability...Ripstop vs Taffeta

I don't like the feel of it. It just seems like a lot cheaper material, and it stretches a lot. Although, at the price point, I guess you can't really complain about it.
