Oh, and I use the compactor bag from inside my pack.
I find sitting on a hammock better than any chair.....I also bring a cut mattrass foam 20x20 (folded) on all my hikes and use it to sit on trees and rocks. Works great.

Usually just tossed under the tarp next to my hammock. If the wind is blowing or I am worried about water flowing under the tarp then the trash compactor pack liner tuns into pack cover.

I'm not getting my hammock anywhere near the fire, hence the chair. Otherwise I agree, just use the hammock as a chair.

    Thanks much...
Yep, under the tarp under the hammock, with or without said material. I do now carry some tyvek to put stuff on, but really, unless you're in one of those "managed" campgrounds, you really don't need to worry about runoff coming under the tarp. YMMV.

FYI for anyone wanting this chair but you don't want to shell out 90$ for it. Walmart knock off 15$! I have one and it works well but it is 6 oz heavier. Lol. IMG_2415.jpgIMG_2403.jpg

I've thought about that but we sit around the camp fire quite a bit and I'm not bringing my hammock close to a fire.

If staying out of a tent and off the ground is good enough for me... It's good enough for my ULA ohm! I put a pack cover on it and add some Dutch Bling utilizing a Big Carl Pack Hanger. So easy, I sometimes hang my pack at rest stops along the trail! Really questioned the purchase, but it's so lightweight. A couple of times I have even used it as a small clothesline!

I add a plastic sheet or trash bag between tree and pack in case of sticky tree sap.
hang under ridge line usually too heavy, so use a carabiner click on to one of the tree trunk works well.

I use a Molly Mac Gear Box, usually hung between two near by trees. Has worked really well for me through a few pretty wet nights.
