    Hammock Chair

    All,

I have been the beneficiary of many posts on this forum over the last few years. I have been making Hammock Chairs based on a collection of ideas from this site and am now selling them as a business. I am having them made in Haiti as part of a aid effort to increase employment and economic development of rural communities there.

If there is interest, I will post a "how to" thread. Let me know if you guys would like to see that.

Here are some pics. The model I am selling is built pretty rugged for Boy Scouts, etc. and weighs 16 oz. I have another model that I'll start selling soon that is 4.5-6.5 oz with suspension. I can post instructions for a version of both of those for the forum.

That's me at High Falls near Cheaha State Park in Alabama.

Curious on the business model. Can you tell us more about the Haiti connection? What is the cost per unit, all in, how much is profit for the workers, etc. If you'd rather not share, I can respect that, just wondering.

I checked on the website but didn't see any max capacity. Do you know what it would be?

The Deluxe model is made from 1.9 ripstop and has a 300 lb weight limit.

The HikerLite is made with Robic1.0 and would be safe up to 200 lb. I have used one for about a year and weigh 250+ with no issues.
