I use Tech Line 1.2 mm.
Been using the same piece through several seasons & it's no worse for wear.

One of those Nite-ize ratchet-carabiner thingies...you can find them at Wal-Mart to quickly take the slack out of your 550 cord. Or swap the nylon 550 for some polyester cord that won't stretch as much. In my experience these would be the cheapest solutions. I was using Figure-9's on my 550 cord but I do like the ratcheting adjuster better. Makes a good clothes line adjuster too.
I like 1.75mm Lash-it/Zing-it. There are a few brands of reflective cords that are pretty popular too.
I tried zing-it but it snapped 4' under my tarp have no clue why. Wind was roughly 5-10 mph with gusts around 20. The two poles it was attached to could never move so there was no sway there.
I would recommend the 1.8mm Catzye for all tarp lines. I am using it on my guylines but have 1.75mm Lash-it for the ridgeline because I already had it when I purchased the Catzye.

That's where I got mine.
Are you guys putting any shock cord on the tarp lines?
