    What size shock cord?

I'm putting together an underquilt, first time.
I tried some light stretch cord on the ends, the kind sold at walmart but it just isn't cutting it. While perusing the online retailers I see them selling shock cord in 1/8, 3/32 and 1/16 sizes. Is any size preferable or to be avoided?
    Thanks.

I like to go a littler heavier to be safe. I had 3/32 originally on my custom 30° Phincubator, but it didn't quite feel right. I swapped it out with 1/8 and it feels much better. The difference isn't much so I like to err on the side of caution.

Just make sure you get quality shock cord!! That's the most important thing. I bought mine from ditchwaregear and it's good stuff.

Same experience here - 1/8" from Dutchware is the way to go for me.

I get 25 feet at a time and find lots of uses for it.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up getting 1/8" from ripstop by the roll, the dutchware site was down when I went to order so didn't get to see their offerings. Maybe next time.

Should be OK. I bet they use the same supplier, same with Hammockgear too.

I use 1/8" for almost every shock cord application except for underquilt protectors and hammock zipper hoods.

Not if they both still sell the same I bought last year. I ordered shock cords from different suppliers, because the quality varies a lot. I like the one Dutch sells best. It has a smother mantle. And I think it had a bit more pull in a side-by-side comparison.
