Techniques for using regular ring tree straps?

    Hi everyone,

First post here. So I have had this hammock for a while, and I love it. It's obviously not the top end, but it was affordable and I've spent many comfortable nights in the woods with it.
My question regards the suspension system. As you can see from the link, it comes with two tree straps (webbing with a single ring on one end) and two heavy duty 66" ropes. The tree straps are easy to use, but sometimes one time around the tree is too long, and twice around the tree is too short. I would like to use the suspension ropes to fix this, but a lot of knots don't work or make me wonder about rope strength when tide around the ring (180 degree turn at that single point). Is there a good solution for this that is sturdy and provides good range of height adjustment?

    Thank you so much,
    Mitch

I know it's not the lightest gear, and it's a lot of stuff, but I use a canoe, so it's a lot like car camping, but without the other cars.

There are a lot of options for suspension that don't leave you tying knots. Cinch Buckles are one option that you could switch out to that would give you a good range of adjustment and easy set up. There are also a wide range of Whoopie Sling systems that are one of the most popular replacement suspensions around.

Find a couple toggles and use a Marlin Spike Hitch. That way, you control where you attach the hammock.
