Tarp stuff sack - is yours same W/P material?

I leave my double end stuff sack on my tarp when it's setup with a CRL using Dutch ware gear. Was curious how much water this normal 1.1 material can soak up when left in the rain. I don't want it having a sponge effect when packed wth my other gear and stuff sacks.

Do you guys use sil coated sacks for your tarps too?

I make stuff sacks almost daily from whatever scraps I have on hand -- waste not, want not! While I make double-ended stuff sacks for hammocks almost exclusively out of breathable (usually uncalendared) material, I am not as particular about stuff sacks for tarps. I will make tarp sacks out of sil-poly or sil-nylon if I have it to spare, but I probably have half of my tarps in sacks made from other kinds of fabric. Even if my tarp sack is waterproof, I still try to keep it in an outside pocket of my pack if the tarp gets put away wet. My $0.02; HTH...

Valid points. I just have a habit of leaving my double attached to the tarp and was curious about it getting wet

.9 oz noseeum mesh makes a great tarp stuff sack. Water runs right through it, so no worries of it soaking up to much moisture setting on the end of your tarp. Usually keep my extra lines in it so that they are close at hand.

I made a double ended stuff sack from no see-um mesh as well. Has a pocket for the ridgeline that I have since added a kam snap to so nothing falls out. It's light and stays on the ridgeline so I won't lose it. If it's wet I can just stuff in an outside pocket of my pack.

Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

I don't use a stuff sack for my tarp. I put it in some tarp skins and that gets stuffed right into the stretchy pocket on the outside of the my pack.
