    As long as I'm understanding you correctly, no. Either way it's threaded the same. If you don't like it one way, just flip it over before connecting to hammock.

    I am not a fan of that type of strap material at all. Especially when using cinch buckles, not a fan of them either.

    Much prefer triangle style buckles and the strap material used by Warbonnet or sold by Sailrite and a few other vendors. Imho, if you want bombproof, go triangles with the other style strap material. Literally a thousand plus hangs without a failure. And yeah, I'm talking heavyweight loading.

    I think it does. If the tail of the strap exits from the top of the buckle, it applies a twisting moment on the buckle.

    The buckle is wrapped "Dutch style"...I add a half hitch on each end which locks the wrap in and stabilizes it.
