    New Hammock coming out!

    Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to let people know about a new hammock coming to the market soon. They are a single hammock from Outdoor Vitals. Here is a link to thier YouTube channel. It looks like a pretty good hammock at a good value. I have purchased other items from them and quality appears to be a goal of theirs.

I pre-ordered one myself and will follow-up with a review as soon as I receive it and test it out.

    Regards,

    Matt

That presale isn't bad for a hammock that light weight. Please do follow up with a review once you get yours in hand.

I was just letting people know something new is out there. It's cheaper (pre-order price) and lighter than a ENO single and comes with a whoopie sling suspension and straps. I have no clue if it will be good or not but it's another option for those who don't make their own gear.

I agree...I think their target price is too high for what is described but the pre-sale price seems decent for a out of the box ready-to-go light weight hammock.

Not trying to be negative but I have to question bringing a new hammock to market that is 9'. Too short and most realize that when they get more serious about hammocks as a sleep system. Its fine for lounging at the park. The clear trend is a move to hammocks that are 11' and even 12' in length. Can get a much flatter and dare I say...more comfortable lay.

If all they are going for is low weight than I can see going minimalist in dimension (That has not been the OV MO though). Its a 14oz hammock (including whoopies) that has a weight limit of 300lbs and that is all great. But it would not even get a look from me at 6'2" and 285lbs being single layer and 9'. OV is not an ultra-lighter company and I wish they should have come out with something more in the mold of the Chameleon to at least stand out a bit from the saturated parachute hammock market.

I think OV is a cool up and coming company and they have a great YT channel showing their products. I am rooting for them. I would have been interested at a more usable length though. YMMV. HYOH.
“The word hammockable (Meaning: two trees that are the perfect distance apart between which a hammock can be hung) is not in the dictionary, but it should be.”

I find that a lot of short people and ladies tend to like the 9' hammocks so there's definitely a market. I with you on the length though. I find that a 9 footer is just not comfortable for me and I'm only 5' 8". I'll still root for all vendors as that's a tough way to make a living.
