Question MultiMok - Anybody heard of these guys

WWW.Multimok.com - - Anybody heard of these guys? Looks like their concept is a bit different. Cargo Netting/Webbing that you put whatever fabric you want over it. Says it is capable of hanging upwards of a ton but....

i can't even imagine how many pressure ridges you'd have in one of those

now, with a pad, I could see them being pretty alright

Looks like a rope hammock using flat webbing. Interesting idea, but it looks like you pretty much need to use a pad. And wow...that price..

Innovative for sure. Pricey at $300. Very multipurpose gear though! You could use it for load containment in your truck bed or jeep or canoe, then zip the ripstop in to make it a hammock or bridge hammock or many other things. Pretty cool. Not many of the pictures look like a comfortable sleep is being had, but who knows?

Can I join in here? I'm Jake, owner of Multimok.

It was cool to find this conversation and I am certainly flattered by the comments.

Each of your concerns came up in our testing and we stand behind the core product intention which is comfort and strength.

Here is a pic during that testing. I have my 0° bag right on the webbing (or what we call the skeleton), no pad or pillow. My only issue that night at 15°F was my feet which I warmed up by moving a bit. The pressure is evenly distributed by the design and spacing of the grid. The grid design also allows loft from your bag to get underneath you for insulation. (forgive the lights it was Dec 16th. hahaha)

I am pretty proud of the design and what it brings to the community.

We're launching a kickstarter this weekend, June 23-25, to help introduce our product to the masses at a lower price. I hope that helps invite you into the Multimok camp at least for some conversation.

    Jake

I actually snagged one of these a while back off the exchange. I haven’t used it yet, but the quality looks very high. I plan to use it to coax ground dwellers into the air with us more civilized outdoors folks. I figure that with it outstretched on 4 corners, it should be pretty non-intimidating to newbies. Plus, they can use their bag like a security blanket and pretend they’re in their tent
But for the grace of God, there, I go...

Graff41~~ don't you still get the compression of the portion of your sleeping bag that's under you, and end up with cold-butt-syndrome?
