Gear For Sale: Down Items and More

Gear closet items looking for a new home. The first $20 gets donated to Hammock Forums HQ DONE!, so feed your addiction and help pay for some bandwidth at the same time

More details and pics available upon request.

    1. Big Agnes Horsethief down sleeping bag. Long size. Has the "wedgie" zip-in / removable gusset to add some extra wiggle room. This is the grey version from a couple years back - not the new all black '09 version. A steal at $140 for both bag and wedgie includes free US shipping.

SOLD. 2. REI AntiFreeze II Down Jacket. This is a BAFFLED down jacket. Not sewn through. This makes it very warm. Too warm, which is why I'm looking to sell it. It just doesn't get cold enough in the Pacific Northwest to justify something this warm. Worn exactly one time for a few hours. Unfortunately in that time I was handed a kitten who promptly climbed up my right shoulder. There are a few pinholes on the right chest. No down has leaked and it functions 100% as normal, but they're there. Nice micro fleece pockets, collar, and wrists. The hood is removable and would make a great down balaclava for quilters on its own. It's very puffy. Black. XXL. Retails for $180. 50% off for the pinholes. $90 Shipped.

    3. Keen sandals. Beefed up flip flops. They were given to me as a gift. Size 14, which is a tad big for my size 13 feet. I think they retail for $50. Shipped for $25.

SOLD. Outdoor Research Overmitts. No insulation - you wear your gloves underneath. A few years old for sure, but never used. Size XL. Fully taped Goretex with super grippy palms. I think they retailed for something like $60. Shipped for $40.

    5. MYOG stuff. I have some ripstop nylon (1.7?), pack hipbelts, lots of Kelty Cloud/Flight components than can be added to almost any pack, aluminum frame parts, foam padding, and more. Let me know what you're interested in and we can talk turkey. More interested in getting it out of the closet than making a bunch of cash, so make an offer.
UPDATE: Looks like it's about 10.5 yards of a blue (turquoise?) ripstop nylon that is probably 1.7. Another 1.5+ yards of a dark blue ripstop, also probably 1.7. The small piece has one approximately 2'x2' piece cut out of it. The big piece is untouched, full width. With 35+ feet of the first stuff, that ought to make 2-3 single layer hammocks, right?

Swaps are just as fun as cash. Guardian-like bug net?

PM works for me to start. Thanks!

Could you send a pic of the OR Overmitt? I've been looking for some overmitts for riding the motorcycle...

I'll take the Mitts if no one has beaten me to them. PM sent.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver

Received the mitts today. Thanks, Curt!

You must have pets? Our Sheltie went nuts when she first checked them out... got all happy, wagging tail, running in circles. You don't happen to have a sheltie, do you??

We had a Siberian Husky for 15.5 years until 2007 when he finally went down the "final trail". The last time I used those mitts was probably in the snow with him, so maybe there's a little something in there somewhere.

Glad you like them - hope they do what you want them to.

What is the temp rating on the sleeping bag? I have a friend who is trying to gear up and may be interested.

Pretty sure the Horsethief is a 35 degree bag. Let me know if you have any other questions. I offered the set for someone else at $125, so consider that a standing offer.

    Thanks!
