    Snakes are just slithering chicken. I suggest a little butter and some pepper. for more info on slithering chicken recipes I have a cook book called survallybushcraftjimbohawesomesauceoutdoors556 top ten slithering chicken recipes. or you could just use a bug net. it's up to you.

    If it's a real problem you could put 2 or 3 moth balls in a mesh package and tie these to your suspension but I would be much more worried about the one falling from above trying to get to the bird eggs.

    Really shouldn't be a problem, except at night. That is when they are most likely to attack seeking the extra warmth for their ectothermic ways. Watch out for the infrared sensing pit vipers. Great climbers by the way.
