    Lawson 1.75mm Technora

Lawson Equipment has a pretty excellent deal on this cordage right now. It looks similar to Lash It/Zing It as far as characteristics go (slightly heavier) and I would assume it would be great for SRLs and guy outs. Anyone have any experience with it?

Quick search of the internet says its kind of like kevlar from dupont. I'm sure it would work just fine in place of lashit/zingit. Has the same avg breaking strenght and is spliceable

I bought a 1000ft spool from Lawson and I am incredibly happy with it. It's not as slick as Zing It and I would have to give a slight edge to Zing It for splicing ability but at 10 cents per foot, it works great as for ridgelines, guy outs, stuff sacks and other light and medium duty applications. The word I got from Lawson is that he has a ton of 1000ft spools left in stock. I couldn't pass up some guy wire at $5.00 per 50ft hank either.

I assume someone will eventually find this post useful. I was completely wrong based on my initial impression of splicing ability. I made a locked brummel using an E guitar string as a fid. I was very surprised how easy I was able to splice Technora. I didn't even taper the ends of the cord. It required almost no effort to make my bury. Next, this cord can be melted to prevent fraying. So for neat freaks out there like me who would generally do a bury just to clean up an end, you can save time and do a clean end melt and your Technora will maintain its structure. Lastly it's made in a very nice earth color. I would say it's somewhere between olive drab and foliage green.

You can get Zing It for $10 less per 1000ft if you buy a full spool but I'm going to be buying Technora as long as I can get it at this price.

My experience with Lawson is pretty poor.
Pursed two weeks ago. Got a shipment email May 4 and today the email me to tell me their out of stock?
    Poor customer service.

My experience's have been excellent. Fast shipping, and have gotten exactly what I ordered, along with a handwritten note. Several orders in the last 30 days. Same each time.
    Have you contacted them?
I know it's not the lightest gear, and it's a lot of stuff, but I use a canoe, so it's a lot like car camping, but without the other cars.

    I did contact them.
Lawson does seem interested in fixing this issue. Doesn't help me for this trip but he has expedited shipping so I have my order for the next one.
I'll comment more once I see the product. So far so. ..ok....
