    Replacement D-Ring

I recently ordered a MacCat Deluxe tarp, and it's a great tarp with the exception that one of the d-rings was broken when I received it. I chalked it up to a defective part, not anything to do with the workmanship, no big deal. However, I guess I failed to do my due diligence before ordering, and I missed the warnings about the customer service. I have already done the standard process of e-mailing Brian and waiting forever with no response, so now I'm looking at DIY options to fix this.

Are there any replacement d-ring type parts that would not require me to remove and re-sew the tie-out webbing? Everything I have come across from Dutchware or RBTR is a continuous ring with no way to attach it without removing the webbing first. I'm sure these rings are commonly replaced parts, so I'm hoping some people out there have already solved this puzzle for me.

You could just add a loop of cord in its place or do the same w/a D-ring attached.

In addition, Zpacks sells (or used to) add-on linelocs w/grosgrain to simply larkshead onto a tie-out.

Maybe a stainless key ring will do the trick. There are some that are made of surgical steel.

Both of those are great ideas, or send it to me and I will replace it for free.

This was one of those "Duh!" moments for me; over-complicating things as usual, haha.

I like the key ring idea, but I'll have to figure out what size would be strong enough. Sounds like a good thing to have on hand for the next time a d-ring breaks.

This is definitely what I call epic customer service! (PM sent)

I'm thinking titanium key rings should be the next Dutch Bling.

Make a loop out of shock cord and Larkshead it to the tarp tie out and a beastie D.
Then you have an auto tensioner.
