Crap! Screwed up and tarp leaks...

Ok. Made my first tarp and it's a beauty. Did the Standing French seam bound in 1.5" grossgrain.
I was hoping to use an internal pole mod so I put three 1/2 grossgrain loops in the seam. I thought these would be useful for hanging stuff and a CRL too.
    BAD IDEA!
Decided to test it last night in the torrential rain we had. It leaked
The ridge line doesn't leak BUT the loops seem to act like a drip line and allow water through the seam.
    Here is the tarp.

    And loops

So my question to you all is, how do I fix it?
Should I just try and seam seal the seam? Don't think this will work because I think the ridge grossgrain isn't waterproof and will allow water to the loop grossgrain.
Can I just waterproof the ridgeline grossgrain with silicone and spirits?
Should I just take it apart and remove the loops?
The learning curve of hammock DIY...at least it doesn't involve broken bones like some other learning curves

Gonna need to seal the ridge from the exterior using diluted silicone/mineral spirit blend. This should take care of it for you.

    That sure is a beauty!

I know it's discouraging, but it is a learning experience that is easily (as pointed out above) remedied. Enjoy your sweet tarp!

Another option, a tiny bit of matching waterproof fabric as a sewn in cap over the three loops then seal the edges. That should keep them from ever getting wet.

Yes, make sure it's dry first. Use alcohol only if you need to clean something off the tarp that water won't (like oil or grease). Most people recommend 3:1 spirits to silicone, but you're just looking to thin the sil so that it's easy to work with and doesn't go on too thick. Good luck!
