Hey there! I just recently joined your forum so I thought I'd say "hi"!
Here's a little about me:
- been hammock camping for about 17-18 years. The first time was on my first real backpacking trip up Mount Dix in the Adirondacks in the late 90s. My buddy and I pitched some cheap string type hammocks in the lean-tos on the trail.
- initially i hammock camped while backpacking but over the past 10-14 years most of my trips have been bicycle camping and touring. Some of my trips have been Montreal to Philly, Philly to Virginia Beach and back, Chicago to Philly, and most recently, Washington DC to Pittsburgh via the Great Allegheny Passageway and C&O Canal Path.
- My first decent hammock was a Hennesey Asym Expedition that opened from the bottom. Last year purchased a Warbonnet Blackbird XLC and I love it! I've also recently purchased an ENO for my 8 year old son who is going to start accompanying me on trips.
- Lately i've been planning to get back into a few backpacking trips and have been doing a lot of research (and purchasing) of new gear to go ultralight.
