Which is more important - UQ or TQ?

The reason I ask is I have a 30* Nemo Nocturne down sleeping bag that is a few years old and a real old 20* Marmot mummy bag that is still in great shape.

I have a 40* Burrow and 40* Incubator on order from HG and I am wondering if I could substitute one of the bags for the TQ when temps got down in the 30's and still be comfortable.

    Thanks.

I'd purchase an UQ and use the bag for a TQ until i have enough for an actual TQ.

unless you're desperate for a weight reduction, I'd just keep using the bag until it fell apart to be honest.

I am saying I have already ordered a 40* TQ and UQ. I will use them for warmer temps, but what I am wondering is how much lower will I be able to go if I use one of the bags for a TQ?

If your looking to press into lower temps, I'd recommend cancelling the TQ and buying a 20 degree underquilt. Your bags will work fine on top.

Agreed.... The 40° underquilt will be the limiting factor.

Yep, I'd go with a 20* Econ Incubator and keep using the bags till you've got a winter TQ.

OK, understood- thanks for the advice.

I am going to stick with the 40* set as that will be enough for me down here for 9 or 10 months out of the year. I will get a 20* UQ and pair it with the 20* and 30* bags for the colder months.

    Best,
    Alkali
