Thanks to all of you creative folks inspiring me, I've been trying my hand at diy lately.
Made a double ended stuff sack from scrap.
Now my twelve-ish foot hammock.
This thing is huge and I'm still working on the gathered end rigging, but this is a comfortable hammock. 1.6 hyperd single layer from Rsbtr in Kelly Green. I started with the full four yards and did rolled hem sides and two inch rolled end channel. Finished size is about eleven feet four inches. Used Mara 70 thread in Grey.
Made an 83% adjustable rl in Grey lash it. Spliced some loops on the ends. Used a Prusik knot soft shackle for adjustment.
Using cinch buckle webbing on this one. Did a warbonnet style loop through the end channel with a diy dogbone. Then whipped the knotted end two wraps with the dogbone and back through the spliced loop. This gives me some adjustability for eliminating calf Ridge and such.
Doesn't have to be pretty to work.
Camo webbing for diy straps
And the big reward.
Thanks to everyone for sharing their projects and helping this guy learn a valuable new craft.
