I also do the "Red Head".....the CL...shoot, even just stitch some read thread into the line out. A WBBB, also has the shelf....easy to notice that.

Part of why we stock 10 different colors of cordlocks.

+1 - Red Nail Polish on the Dutch Clip and it is easily seen when the Stuff Sac is opened slightly. Red for head but also (more import with a WBBB) for right hand when standing inbetween the tree's. As someone mentioned the Shelf is on the back right side of the hammock and the Footbox is on the back left hand side (also standing between the trees). The other thing I have done is to loop the string around the Cord Lock over and over tightly to mark the clean Dutch Clip. The red Dutch clip end of the stuff sack has the cord left long and not wrapped tightly around the cord lock.

I use to feel your pain, now it's almost automatic! It does help tremendously when trying to block wind with a porch mode for a view unlike any tent.

I exchanged the Amsteel loops attached to the WB cinch buckles with silver Amsteel at the head end and black Amsteel at the foot end. I don't want flashy colors on my set-up, and grey and black work nicely. I leave my cinch buckles hanging out of the stuff sack anyway, because I usually take off the webbing and don't want to search for the buckles in the stuff sack when I hang the hammock.

Choose the color of your whoopie slings. Red for head, blue for shoe.

My primary reason for doing it is I don't want my head ever being where my (potentially) stinky feet have been. I wear clean socks in the hammock but still.

This had NEVER crossed my mind. I will never lay in my hammock the same way again, er, I mean I will ALWAYS lay in my hammock the same way for ever... Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

I leave the CL's sticking out of my stuff sack, the foot end is tied in multi knots, the head is just cinched closed, I also switched to the Raven and don't have to ever worry about that problem. Thanks to the Smurfs.

Lots of very effective ideas here. I just have a few inches of dental floss permanently tied to the head end of the hammock, and always put the head end up first.

I keep my hammock in a double-sided stuff sack. I have a small zip tie cinched down on the drawstring of my head end of the bag.

I haven't got around to buying different colored CLs yet...
