Planning ahead AT hike TQ & UQ question

I'm planning an AT hike in the next couple of years starting mid February most likely. I know this year seems to be especially cold and snowy.
I have a 20 Burrow and 3 season Warbonnet Yeti. I'm wondering if that would be okay or maybe go for a 10 or 0 setup with the Econ series Hammock gear has right now. I know the weight is a bit more, but even with the zero my base would be around 16lbs so it wouldn't be that big of a deal.
I love the pricing on the Econ since it's gear that wouldn't be used all that much.

I'd love to hear some thoughts from people familiar with Southern areas of the AT and what to expect on an average year in Feb/March

    Thanks

I've seen single digit and negative degree temps on The AT in February, March and April, so I would opt for 0 degree quilts.

I think the HG ECON line is good if you plan on only doing part of the hike with them. I'm sure, if I ever get a zero degree quilt, that I'd aim to go with the HG 0* Econ. Otherwise it might be worth looking for a better down fill to save a few ounces if it'll be joining you for the entire journey, at the cost of maybe 20* per ounce saved (not sure on that number specifically).

I'd go with the zero degree too and switch out to lighter weight/higher temp quilts mid to end April if you can.

Stating in February and assuming Katahdin by July or August you're going to be hitting winter, spring, and summer. That's a pretty good spread of the seasons!

Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll get a zero set and plan on mail drops for my other kit as it warms up.

Just to give you another thought pattern... I have this same set up and am sticking with the 20º quilts. I also can also suppliment with a Thermarest Z-Lite Pad that I am carrying with me at least through the Smokies. I also can play games with Down Jacket and some fleece to help with an extreme night. My ace in the hole is that I also plan on carrying my 50º UGQ Flight Jacket. The great thing about this top quilt is that it can also be converted to an UQ and doubled up with my 20º Yeti. So for me, I am sticking with the 20º set up and hoping to avoid switching gear as temps change.

Why not wait for the next Black Friday deal and get a standard 0° quilt set? You won't be doing the AT this year, and you seem to be fine with what you have now. Plus it's only going to get warmer from now on, so you won't be able to use the 0° quilts before fall anyway.

Here's the thing, I'm on the AT now and at 40s and 50s, I get a bit too warm at night in my 20 degree quilts. I wake up kinda clammy around the thighs.

That said, there were 2 nights where we were worried; 15'degrees with 35 mph gusts. My toes on my left foot were numb two days later.

For that first night alone, the cold weather quilts are worth it.

I'm having my 40s sent to me after the Smokies

FWIW I'm a 2015 MEGA. I used my HG 40 degree Burrow & Incubator from July 3rd until early October at which point I used a 20 degree HG Burrow & custom length Incubator until finish on the 30th of November. I had some nights in the teens, one or two in the single digits. On the nights in the single digits I pitched my tarp low to the ground, put boiling water in my nalgene (made sure the top was on tight!) put it between my thighs, put all my clothes & jacket on, put my sit pad under my lower back/butt and backpack under my feet. I woke up in the weeee hours of the morning chilly but not so cold I couldn't fall back asleep.
