'Great Home' Chinese Hammocks on Amazon Review

A few weeks ago, I was approached out of the blue by a Chinese Amazon start up company called 'Great Home' to review one of their hammocks. I'm sure if you have researched hammocks on Amazon recently you know what I am talking about...dozens of "new" companies selling the almost identical ENO clone hammock. Well, after testing it out and doing my review I don't think these are clones...I'm pretty sure they are exactly the same and probably even made in the same factory just with different labels. Why pay $70-100 from a box store when you can get the exact same thing from the exact some place for right around $30...and this hammock came with decent tree straps! Check it out for yourself:

Do you know for a fact that they are made in the same factory? If not then it's just another Chinese knock off which hurts the vendor that did all of the work.

Cottage vendors offer a great value and craftsmanship for about 20-30 dollars more. Made in the USA and well worth it

I do not know for a fact, but I do know you can buy hammocks in bulk from Alibaba with the ENO logo on them for less than $10 a piece. I'm just sharing my experience...

I agree 100%, and I wasn't comparing these hammocks with our cottage vendors...I was comparing them to other Chinese made products. I would love to do a side by side comparison one day to show why our USA made products are better and worth the extra $$!

Until the Eno and its clones come in 11' lengths it will never be apples to apples.

The only one of these "clones" I was ever tempted to purchase is the Wildhorn Outfitters hammock- because it's 11ft long. It also has a pretty nice cinch buckle suspension included in the $40 or $50 package.

I will say I bought an Eno, hung in it twice, tried a Ticket to the Moon and now own 2. One of them has been in my room for about 4 years now where I read, sleep, even watch movies in it. I can't get my DIY 11' ones to work on the frame but have been very pleased with them. They also tend to go on backpacking trips where they are strung next to the creeks and lakes to lounge in.

Eno may have been the original to mass-market the parachute hammock but there are several very good options out there for $30-50. They may not have the brand recognition but then they don't spend an extra 30% on it. They also don't come in the 11' range unless you go silly sized. As for me? I sold the Eno ages ago, got into the better and true camping hammocks and never looked back. Still, a good Ego, TttM or other cheap fun hammock is all you need to toss up when taking a random break. If I can be just as comfortable with a $30 'knock off' as I can the $100 with suspension name brand so much the better. Thats a DIY hammock and underquilt protector in savings!

I hope they didn't ask you to leave a review on Amazon, because that's prohibited now. They got tired of all these Chinese companies selling junk (usually) at low prices or practically giving stuff away just to get a review. Then most people felt pressured into leaving 4-5 stars no matter what, usually 10 minutes out of the mailbox without really giving it an honest test.
