Yes, it was -and I'm not complaining.

Tinny's ONE experience hammock camping was NOT favorable, -he used the stock Hennessy tarp during a downpour. With these little gems and a Warbonnet Superfly tarp, (and a good UQ & TQ) I hope to give him a whole new perspective on hammocking.

There will be a report, but video may be a day or so in coming as I have never edited or posted video before. This will either be comedy gold or epic fail, time will tell.

My sons first was also a let down. I asked him tonight if he wanted to go camping in April, he said "not until Im 10, then I wont be scared."

My first video upload was a shock. My upload speed is on the slow side.... It was painful. Looking forward to it.

Sticks. Then you dont need to worry about weight. Just pick them up.

But if you prefer to carry something, as I do...

Arrow shaft, short section of wooden dowel.....

It just occurred to me, and possibly the only drawback to this system, is your head/other body parts would be in the line of fire if the stake gets sling shot out of the ground as you are putting tension on the line.

Fully stretched, the tubing Im using exerts 7 pounds of force on the line/stake.

Even in my soft sandy yard, I havent had a stake come out of the ground.

    But yes... It can happen.

Well....I still don't quite understand how to make a small loop prussik around 2 different things. I can make the loop prussik the d ring or the line, but can't figure out how to do both. So I tied my loop to the d ring with mason line. Feels like I sold out..... what did i do wrong?

    thanks!

So these are the newest design you have come up with eh opie? I have a spin maccat and a sil superfly, will need 5 with tubing for my superfly and 5 without tubing for my maccat. I like these better than UCRs, prussics are better in my book for holding power and adjustments. What are you currently using on your tarps opie, prussics or ucrs?

Carbon arrow cutoffs. They weigh 2 grams each.

Its actually a design bazza came up with.

It does seem to work better than the UCR. I am using the prusik on my tarp and I am no longer offering the UCR design.

One of the benefits is they will work without the tensioner. On the UCR version, you had to have the tensioner so the contstrictor would work.

Another benefit is you can make adjustments from under the tarp, no need to get out in inclement weather. And for the tensioner version, they double as fair weather lines and cold/foul weather lines. There is a fixed eye in either end of the line, for fair weather use the eye that has the tensioner....for cold/foul weather, use the other eye and you can almost get your tarp edge to the ground.
