New hanger out of the closet

Love backpacking and being outdoors away from it all. Never thought I'd be a hammocker though. Because of snowboarding, volleyball, soccer, & other miscellaneous sports, my knees are shot. Been due for knee replacement for 6 years, but doc wants me to wait till 50, next year. Most hammock's aren't comfortable for my knees. WB Blackbird xlc has changed my mind. My Brother from another mother bought it for me convinced I'd like it. It's not as light as my tarp/net tent combo, but I've never felt so good after sleeping outdoors. Hmmmm, tough decisions from now on on which system I'll be taking into the backcountry. Thanks Evan. Many recent late nights too, thanks to Hammock Forum and all the interesting posts. Time to get some sleep. Good night hangers.

Hello and welcome from Marietta GA. Warbonnet also makes a bridge hammock, the Ridgerunner, that you might be interested in for your knees' sakes. Bridge hammocks give a flatter lay than standard hammocks and some people find them more comfortable. There are others out there who offer them as well. But if your BB is working no need to change. Happy hanging!

Thanks for all the welcome replies. Once my weekends free up from coaching Vball and snowboarding, I'll be hanging every weekend I have free.

Welcome! I strongly recommend getting out and hiking - I think it's really helped my knees a lot. (I also weight train and lost some weight but man they feel so much better than they did a few years ago.)
