I thought I would update my findings with my new Medistrom PilotLite 12.
I have to say I am impressed with its performance. I got three full nights with some charge leftover running my HDM Z1 apap. The machine is 10.3 oz and the battery is 19 oz for a grand total of 29.3 oz. Not too bad and very compact. I averaged pressure of 7.3 on the apap setting over the three nights. The Pilot Lite 12 is less bulky and slightly cheaper than my original HDM battery pack which I could only get about 7 hours out of. I thought about upgrading to the newer battery pack for the Z1 but it only promised about 14 total hours. The Pilot Lite 12 is less bulky and was about $30 cheaper. If I can consistently get three full nights (26 total hours) that’ll cover 90% of my needs and works as a constant backup in the house for power outages. I may look into an MAD device for longer trips but for now, I am very very pleased!
(Edit) Almost forgot to mention two things: (1) if you get the Pilot Lite for use with Z1 you have to buy the cable pack that includes the DC cord for Z1 and (2) for humidification I used an HME and it worked very well. Could use it anywhere and does not draw any power as it simply plugs into your hose just above the mask.

Nice setup Big E, I like it. I have the 24v version of the PilotLite for my AirMini. Battery life seems pretty good for the size/weight, especially for what I use it for (motorcycle trips).
I may try to find a used Z1, if nothing else just because it uses 12v vs 24v for my AirMini. A lot more power options for 12v.
for a follow up, at an average of pressure of 7 with my Z2 auto, I'm getting 4+ nights out of my PS-45. For the compact size and weight of my set up, I couldn't be happier. I'm mostly a motorcycle camper so weight isn't a big concern for me but at just under 5 lbs, I wouldn't hesitate to do an overnight hike with this setup.I thought I’d offer up my current travel setup. Very pleased with it. I haven’t exhausted the battery pack yet but I’ve got 2 full nights out if it and expect I’d get at least one more. The whole kit fits in a kid’s lunch box and comes in just under 5 pounds. Total cost came in around $600

I think that you posted a pic of that set up previously and I stole the kids lunch box idea and used it. It worked perfectly, just enought padding to offer a bit of protection with enough room for everything. It doubled as a nice storage spot for wallet, keys, etc. over night as well. All in all that was a great idea! I did have one snafu with the hose. I had the mask and hose tucked in the WBBB pocket, and somehow it came out when I got in the hammock and the hose ended up wrapped uner me. I pulled on it and ripped it open. Fortunately, a pocket knife and some duct tape made for a quick fix that held up just fine for the trip!
