Exclamation Hammock Gear Econ Quilt Line...Here to Stay?

    Hey everyone,

I just wanted to make a quick post about a few things regarding our Econ line of quilts.

I have been getting a few questions about how we are able to offer these quilts at such a low price. The answer is pretty simple really. We are using the new 20d ION fabric that Dutch and I collaborated on, along with some really great deals we came across for the other materials. I know the price point suggests that we are possibly having these quilts built in another country but that is definitely NOT the case. They are, and will continue to be made right here at our shop in Ohio. We have a great crew at Hammock Gear and quality is our number one priority (with customer service being a very close second! ).

Having said all of that, I can not promise that these quilts will always be around. Down prices are notorious for fluctuating and WHEN they do (they always do) we will not be able to keep them at these prices. I know this comes off as sounding like a pushy sales tactic (which I apologize for), but I just want to be honest with everyone.

    Thanks all,

I'm glad to have them around now. Thanks for providing an economical option.

Looking forward to using my first, real, store bought underquilt...

The line looks awesome. Everyone is geeking out about them and rightfully so. I love my 10° Incubator/Burrow and I am sure the Econ line is just as great. I am close to picking up a summer set in the econ line.

I have a question about size: My standard 10° Incubator weighs in at 23oz on my scale... in looking at the warmer weather quilts, the standard 40° Econ Incubator comes in at 20.25oz for a weight savings of only about 2-3oz. My question is will the 40° econ pack much smaller than the 10° Incubator even though the weight is very similar? I am having trouble picturing a warm weather UQ that actually weighs 2-3oz more being that much smaller. My brain is telling me if they weigh pretty much the same, the pack size would be similar even though they have a big difference in warmth. I may have that wrong.

I like the small weight savings but am also interested in smaller bulk in my pack. Any insight would be appreciated.

Appreciate the transparency, Stormcrow. You didn't have to go out of your way to offer economy quilts, but you did, and us hangers on a budget appreciate it.

Maybe the prices go up with material then maybe back down a bit. (no pun intended). It is no different with gas and other products. That said, I am trying to find a way to budget for a 40degree set! Lol

Sweeet! I was literally inches from hitting the checkout button on a non-Econ Burrow. So, sorry to not give you that hundred bucks.
