Wow Adam, A friend just told me about this and this is fantastic. I'm always turning folks onto hammocks and the cost of UQ's hold them back for a while. But this changes everything! Thank you for offering this and I'm sending a few folks your way very soon!

Well thank you Miss Cakes. I certainly appreciate it. Haven't seen you in a while. Maybe Thorwren and I will catch you at a hang sometime soon.

You're most welcome Adam. Maybe you guys can ride over with Dutch to my hang in June. Lots of folks here are coming to see all this hammock stuff. And we're gonna be paddling too!

I have a question about size: My standard 10° Incubator weighs in at 23oz on my scale... in looking at the warmer weather quilts, the standard 40° Econ Incubator comes in at 20.25oz for a weight savings of only about 2-3oz. My question is will the 40° econ pack much smaller than the 10° Incubator even though the weight is very similar? I am having trouble picturing a warm weather UQ that weighs only 2-3oz more being THAT much smaller. My brain is telling me if they weight the same, the pack size would be similar. I may have that wrong.

I like the small weight savings but am also interested in smaller bulk in my pack. Any insight would be appreciated.
    Hey Burg54,
Even though the weight will be somewhat similar for those two particular quilts, the packability will still be different. If you compare the regular Incubator 40's with the Incubator Econ 40's, the Econ version will be just a little bulkier mainly due to the fabric and the 10% extra down in it. But, compared to the 10° it will be less bulk. The Incubator Econ 40 will fit into our 4.5 liter stuff sack, whereas the 10 will fit in our 8.5 liter stuff sack. There will be some wiggle room for the 10 in that sack. Ultimately, since the quilts are both made with down, they can be compressed even further than what our provided stuff sacks allow for with a compression stuff sack. We just don't recommend leaving them compressed for more than 24 hours or while you're hiking, as you can begin to damage the loft of the quilts. I hope that helps answer your question!

    Thanks,

Did I see right there is a Phoenix econ as well to be released. I'd love a 40* phoenix and burrow set.

    30 and 40* up now. 14.75 oz, $90 for a 40* phoenix. Dang.

Econ Quilts also now have their own tab, too.

Wow, I sure am glad I saw this! I just got my first hammock from Dutch, and have been looking through the forums for recommendations for insulation, so this was very timely. I just pulled the trigger on an Incubator Econ 30° and a Burrow Econ 30°, can't wait to give them a try!

Thanks for offering a budget line of quilts at such a reasonable price for those of us just getting started with hammock camping!
