Hey everyone!

I met a bunch of great HammockForums members last weekend at a campout I hosted in the NJ Pine Barrens. They gave me a lot of great info that I will use, since I am totally new to hanging. I thought I would check the forum out to see what else I can learn, and try to pass on some of my own knowledge wherever I can.

I set my hammock (custom made by NJRedneck and given to me as a gift) up in my backyard today for the first time with some Atlas straps. I'm going to try to make a whoopie sling ridgeline this weekend out of amsteel. There are a ton of great how-to stickies on this forum which is awesome.

I set my hammock up again on Saturday. This time I made a whoopie ridgeline and used my BCUSA tarp and my Snugpak UQ and TQ. I passed out for about an hour and a half while "testing" it. I'm pretty much sold on this whole hammock thing now. I realized when I woke up that I was doing a mental comparison between comfort in in the hammock vs my bed... not the ground. I had a pretty bad mountain biking crash back in 2010 and it's rare for me to wake up after even a short nap without a little pain. Hammock = NONE.

I ordered 2QZQ UQP today. I'm going to use it in conjunction with a pad and the Snugpak UQ under me and the Snugpak TQ and jungle blanket on top starting now. I have a trip planned up in Stokes in a couple weeks so that will be my first test out of a backpack. I'll probably try the backyard before then.

I'm thinking I will order a 10 or 20 degree Habanero later in the year so I have it for winter. I want to talk to you guys, Ratdog, and NJRedneck to help me decide what length and all.
