    cinch bug threading ?

I just got a pair of cinch bugs, but they came packaged with the straps instead of in one of the little bling bags with the usage card. I did a quick forum search but came up empty. Can anyone direct me to a threading diagram for cinch bugs? I think I have it figured out from Dutch's video, but seeing so many threads on threading the cinch buckles incorrectly, I want to get it right before I hang.

Also, are there names for the two parts of the cinch bug? They don't look like "buckle and friction bar" or "slider and tensioner". It seems that there is patent pending, so I assumed they had highly technical and descriptive nomenclature; hooky bit and loopy part, perhaps?

    Thanks in advance!
    Thanks,

"Titanium Slide" has the double hooks.
"Aluminum Toggle" has the finger grips.

I don't have one in front of me so I'll describe from my very poor memory. I think this is correct.

    1. Pass the webbing through the slide with the hooks pointing down.
    2. Pass the webbing through the toggle with the finger grips pointing up.
    3. Wrap the webbing underneath the toggle and pass back through the slide.

I can post a photo later tonight if need be.

TY sqidmark, based on your descriptions, I had the metal oriented correctly but the strap going through them backwards.

I originally got them to reduce the weight of my long hang strap setup, but I think I'll get another pair for the shorter set as well. More bling!
    Thanks,

Once I got used to using cinch bugs I really began to like them a lot. Fast secure adjustment.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. On the snapshot from Dutch's video below, you can see that the bottom part of the strap goes to the tree, the top is the free end. See also this photo on Dutch's site.

For the 3 pics of mine, I have the 2 cinch bug parts and the strap oriented the same way as the video snapshot and Dutch's photo (and the bottom part of my strap goes to the tree).

Mine came preinstalled on the webbing. Is that not the standard? I managed to twist the webbing on the first use and it too me a long while to get to back.

Dutch must need to re-print the bling card for cinch bugs; I ordered a second pair and a pair of Dutch clips, and I only got the clips card. This is more frustrating than baseball cards in bubble gum. I want the whole set!

So, I've tried threading the bugs both ways. I thought free end on top "should" be the way to go, and free end under is clunky to adjust. That's why I tried and moved on from Dutch buckles, as there was a clunkiness to fine tuning once the hammock is strung IMO. I like fiddling and hate dumping my gear out.
    Thanks,

A good video on their site

    https://dutchwaregear.com/cinch-bugs.html

click on the arrow to the right of the pic to get to the video

I and the video use the loose end on the bottom, I have found it makes a good "drip line"
