Anyone ever done a DYI festive LED string of lights hung from their ridgeline?

I saw ENO's version at REI this weekend, so I wondered...

I have. Battery powered Christmas tree lights work well. 😊

My trail partner made a single led light out of some stuff he had laying around. He then sticks a 1L water bottle (with water) in front. It makes a great lantern style light. Not quite what you was talking about, but it's a homemade light.

DIY, weather proof LEDs would be a little time consuming, to my thinking. I just picked up some red and green pre-mades like THIS for about 7 bucks.

But now you got me thinking about festive lasers on servos run by an Arduino projecting on my tarp!

I'm using these ones, they are just white but provide a nice (not too much) amount of light, and for under 3 bucks it's worth a try.

I go to my Dollar Tree... They almost always have "necklace" style LED strings that open up into a straight strand, complete with a switched battery pack. Different colors/patterns depending on the current holiday upcoming.
A buck is hard to beat.
Too bad you just missed St. Paddy's day... Bet they had sweet little green ones with shamrocks.

I was at harbor freight yesterday and couldn't resist the solar powered white LED rope light - off, blink or continuous - needs a day or two in the sun to charge then I can test it.

I have Eno's twinkle lights in blue/green. They are great. I got it at one of their garage sales for $5.
