My daughter and family lived until recently in Palmer Lake, CO. They lived about a hundred yards from a trailhead going up to the town reservoir. above the two reservoirs is a camp site that would do nicely for hanging. It is a site cut from the woods, with a fixed fire pit and cleared area. You should check that out. I don't know if you have to reserve the site from someone, or if you can just hike there.

If you cannot use the fixed camp site, you can just climb one of the hills and set up your hammock off trail. I have seen people do this, but I have no idea if there are any regulations governing the area. You should check it out.

    Welcome from Denver Greg!

This is after you were going to be out here, but cold. Low of 20ish in the high country.
