lemme think on it. just did an explaratory up there weekend before last. you can't go where i went unless you want punishment, BEAR CREEK is impassable.
how far you looking at? 5 or so miles in; 10 total? something like that?

check out this link. it's an overnight group i run. we've got 5 trips lined up, and several in the buffalo river area. in the meantime i'll try to specifically respond to your request.
Yeah 5ish one way is cool.
got to thinking, and was discussing with a friend; most of the BRT is elevation above the river with little to no water action. he recommends some nearby action on the OHT; hobo falls/ceder creek swimming hole.

i'd also recommend sylamore creek. enter at gunner pool or barkshed. see this trip description

if you're dead set on official BRT, i can get you that info too. the above trips, however, have much more variety. the BRT is great, but it's nearly all bluff hiking.....
i can get you more detailed gps/gpx info when you narrow it down.
We were actually looking at Sylamore as well. I'll take a look at both of those. We love being closer to the water if we can be. We were headed to the Sipsey in AL this weekend but the weather is looking funky.
We definitely want to camp in the back country. Which of these seem to be better options for that or is there really a difference. We tend to hike in a bit to a cool area, set up camp then explore.
another alternative; hurricane creek. plenty of water.

any of these three are good. hurricane offers more straight on water than sylamore. can't go wrong with any of these.
the group link i sent you. we have group trips planned to richland creek, sylamore, and hurricane. you're welcome to join up and join in. these groups of full of all types, with a hippie-ish bent. there's some **** fine hiking-campers. if that's your thing, come along....

here's my FB page. if you scroll back to last weekend, march 11th, you can see some vids of a BRT trip. not the best views, as we were sortof officially checking out a new trail on a scouting effort for the folks that developed the trail.
there was a major map failure 8/10's the way through the trip [only 2 miles to the car]. the map had us crossing a creek that was totally impassable. i had to promise to marry a sheriff dispatcher if she'd come get us. luckily, after backtracking 3 miles up mountain, and 3 more miles down a forest road we found a ride to the car.
