So, we went out camping with the Boy Scouts this weekend, as usual, a bunch in the cabin, few of the older boys in tents and a group of us in hammocks. Saturday was perfect, just cold enough that the precipitation was snow, and no wind, went for a nice hike in the afternoon. Hung my hammock a bit away from everyone (for their sake, I snore, plus I like being out on my own at night). Made some coffee from the hammock, watched some you tube and off to bed.
Fell asleep, and awoke in the middle of the night, and you know what? Everything was perfect, I was in a hammock Nirvana. I have never been this comfortable before. Hang angle was perfect, the angle I was at in my hammock was perfect, a nice flat lay. I had a real slight calf ridge, that gave nice support to my knees that was super comfortable. Temperature was in the low 30's, and I didn't have a chill in my body. Every part of my body was perfect.
I have never had a more perfect hang where everything really clicked into place. Then something clicked and I thought to myself. Everything is so perfect, why the heck am I awake? Then I realized, I gotta hit the head. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Well, I never get up to go in the middle of the night so it must be almost morning and I'll just stick it out till its time to get up. Look at my watch and it's only 3:15? Double Grrrrrrrrrrr. Well I had to do it, get out of the hammock and after watering a tree, I was able to get close to that original Nirvana, but not like I was before I woke up.
Well, Hammock Gods: 1, Mark .5 (gave myself half a point for the fist half of the night.
