folding, rolling straps ?

Hi everyone !

Im now a fan of the becket hitch and I would like to know what to do with the rest of my webbing, I dont really like to let it on the ground so Im looking for a way to tie it or roll it so it dont touch the ground anymore.

If you have pics or videos to show me, I like it when I hang my hammock and everything looks clean

check how the Amok deals with theirs. jsut sew a velcro patch onto the end, and then spool it up as you will, and latch it down with the velcro.

I just do a figure eight wrap with the excess cordage to neaten it up and keep it off the ground.

I just loop mine and tie it on itself but if you want something elegant try web dominators (just do an Amazon search). They are designed for managing excess backpacking straps. They basically operate the same way that the Dutch Buckle does when you wrap straps around them for storage but they are made of plastic. Come to think of it you could slap a dutch buckle on the end of your straps and do the same thing. Dutch buckles are about 10 grams and the dominators 4 grams. Here is a pic of one plus one with about 5 feet of straps wrapped around it.

I just roll mine up except for about 18 inches; I use that to tie it off to the rest of the suspension. I also will just tie a big slippery half hitch or 2 and let those dangle.

Monkey fist would work if the tail is reasonable long, or daisy chain. Both are easy to undo. Just mucking around hanging at home, I've used the monkey fist and it's good. Both are common with rope use so might work well. I like both in that no extra gear is requird.

It varies a lot. If the tarp is deployed, I tuck them in the loose tarp skins. Otherwise, I fold them up and slip them between the strap and the tree or slip them inside the continuous loops.
