It is nice to see a company like REI acknowledge hammocking, even if theirs doesn't stick around long. I don't think our favorite cottage manufacturers have anything to worry about with REI putting out a hammock.
Life has a melody.
More of a threat to ENO than anyone else.
I think I want one. Unless, of course, Dutch debuts a Bridgmeleon soon.

I'm not familiar with the bridge hammock at all, but this looks kind of cool. I would also worry about insulation and shoulder squeeze.
I don't understand all the fuss over insulation? If REI overlooked it who cares, everyone on here understands you need it and probably has a under quilt ect. With regards to the tarp it looks sufficient for standard NC rain. It's a heck of a lot more coverage than a asym tarp. If I am worried will deploy the cuben tarp with doors which will probably enrage people. With 20% off and my $25 dollar dividend it puts it at $150. That's a great price. To all you silent people cowering in the corner because the establishment is bashing this product don't worry about others opinion buy what work for you and have fun.

Long time lurker and new member here...
I am new to hanging, and know that bridge hammocks are the direction for me, I really want to lie flat and while I can still enjoy a gathered end I cannot sleep in one (I am a side sleeper).
After reading almost every forum thread and review out there, I am seriously considering buying this. It looks like a great lightweight intro kit into hanging, but also has the backing of REI great return policy. Ive been weighing the pros and cons to the other available bridge hammock (Warbonnet Ridgerunner, Lawson Blue Ridge, and BMBH) and this seems to have it all at a modest price point.
I know it just came out, but Im resisting every urge not to pull the trigger and buy, I want to wait and see if more reviews come out about it. Nature Call just put out a video about it and seems to explain everything nicely
At ~$200 Im seriously considering it! I called my local REI and they didnt even have them in stock yet, so I might buy now and if I feel its now the right hang I can return.
I was hoping someone on these forums could pursued or dissuade me just by looking at the product listing and seeing any downfalls. The one thing I read in the youtube comments to the Nature Calls review was that tarp is not big enough, however that isn't a deal breaker for me.
