I do urinate at night no matter where I'm sleeping in. When I wake up in the morning I do it again. Always!
Just don't even care about that anymore.

Funny you bring that up. Same for me. I guess it's more common than I thought.

This has been a fascinating/comforting read! I am in my mid 40's and have had to wake up to pee once a night since I was in my mid 30's. When I started hanging regularly, I started having to pee 2 times before going to sleep, but in the hammock, and at least once in the middle of the night. Then of course, once I wake up the next day. I am fit and eat well, but I started worrying about late onset diabetes, as one of the signs is excessive urination at night. Glad to hear the rest of you have the same issue!

FWIW, I drink plenty of water throughout the day and pee regularly. I try not to drink after 6 pm, so that I have a few hours before bed without any new fluids. Even so, in a hammock, as soon as I get comfortable, I have to get up for the first pee brake. Would be nice not to, but I sleep better than ever in the hammock, so I guess it is an acceptable price to pay.

Don't drink so much beer! (Like I tend to do). Pee is a fact of life.

I have always thought the extra pee thing from the hammock was because we drink so much extra water to stay hydrated.

While we're waiting for rerun to get back, I'll mention that if I don't get out to pee at least once during the night, I'll end up having pee dreams. They arrive with many variations on a theme: fill the bowl and overflow it, whiz for 5 minutes straight, can't find the toilet, etc.
The game is the best teacher.

Had to revisit this since I never get used it. I just don't understand how I can wake up at 6am needing to go, empty a full bladder, then wake up 45 minutes later by the alarm clock and go again. Not just again, but again with basically the same volume as before. Where does it come from???

    Hanging is somehow a diuretic.

It really is a strange phenomenon. The only way I've ever been able to sleep through the night in a hammock w/o having to pee multiple times is if I cut off all liquids at least 2 hours before going to sleep. If not, I'll get up at least twice within the first hour or two of laying in the hammock, and then usually once or twice more during the night. Then, I'll have to pee like a racehorse in the morning when I get up.

My theory is that your body is still slightly hinged at the waist in a gathered-end hammock, and this puts more pressure on your bladder- which will cause you to have to pee more often. I wonder if bridge hammock users encounter the same issue?
