Hey all, I apologize if I'm beating a dead horse here. I'm looking at adding a cold weather UQ to my arsenal. Actually, my next UQ will likely be used for all seasons- with the exception of the really warm summer nights. I am on a fairly tight budget, and have all but settled on the JRB Greylock 4. I figure I can vent it in late spring/early summer if needed.
Here's my dilemma, I am pretty weight conscious (even more conscious of my pack size), so I am partial (pun intended) towards a partial or 3/4 length UQ. I am also a very warm sleeper- with my legs never getting cold. While I understand a full length UQ will always be more thermally efficient, I just don't want to invest in something that will be too bulky- because then I will need to get a new backpack as well. The JRB Greylock seems to be very well received, and is a great price, IMO.
My question is to anyone who currently uses (or has used) the Greylock 4. What is the lowest temperature you've ever been able to camp with the G4 and remain comfortable? And, do you wish you had a full length UQ instead of a 3/4? I am 6'1," fwiw, so the 56" Greylock should probably go from the top of my shoulders to just above my ankles- which is dang near full coverage- as I use a pillow for my head.
I've also looked at the Wilderness Logics option. Can someone tell me if the WL has a secondary suspension, or at least loops on the corners to add one? Also, does it perform well?
Thank you for any help or clarification!
