Boy Scout Council Hammock Guidlines/Rules

Great article. There also a number of links to additional articles on hammocks in the Scouting magazine. One is on making your own hammock from a tablecloth. MYOG hammocks seem to be OK.

The BSA National has a posted list of "Safety Points". I would think that the council would be able to just use the already established list from national. That is what our council does.

The document also has a couple of additional links at the bottom....

OMG, that Safety Moment article is just awful. The safety list itself is fine, but the whole straps issue is not done well, plus the links at the bottom are completely off the wall. AND, its literally the ONLY hammock related document they have, so all of that seemingly little stuff matters as a result. They should just refer everything on hammocks to Hansen's fine articles as referred to by Cowpatty.
