Knotty Mod Methods for Finished Hammock

Been looking for a while for instructions on how people have completed knotty mods on finished hammocks. Haven't had any luck finding a process that fits my needs.

I have a couple hammocks that I have already made that I'd like to try knotty mods on. I know some people heat up nails, some sew button holes and then cut the fabric, and others do eyelets. How are people doing these on hammocks that have already been hemmed? If anybody has links to the instructions you've used on hemmed hammocks that would be great. Thanks for the help.

I did the "gap in the hem" method on a hammock I recently made. I don't see why that wouldn't work on an existing hammock. You'd have to rip a few stitches for entry and exit of the cord, and of course go over the end stitches again with a few lock stitches.

    I would sew a casing.
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

I just fold the edge of the hammock over and sew it down creating a channel. Somewhere in the video below I cover what I'm talking about.

    Good luck,

I just used the awl that came with my kam snap tool to make a hole I could thread the shock cord through. Pulled the shock cord through with the wire I use for turning loops in zing-it and amsteel. I tied a plastic bead to each end of the cord, I decided not to use a cord lock because I've never loosened the knotty on my other hammock.
