BTW, for the kevlar 2.2 jbend, because the kevlar is so soft I pass double bights of it through the cl.

For really lightweight trips, I like Kevlar straps, 10 footers, and use the J-bend. Just learned about the J-bend, and I am really liking it. I use Dutch clips with the straps because I hang a lot on spruces and the Dutch clips make it a lot easier to raise or lower my straps around all of the limb snags on the spruce trees. Otherwise, I would leave the Dutch clips home and use no hardware, which makes those 2- 10 strap suspension under 3 ounces and with very little bulk.

By my calculation, just kevlar straps are lighter than using kevlar + mule tape up to 12 ft. After 12 feet, it's better to do a mix of kevlar and mule tape.

I use 12 ft kevlar tree straps with only one sewn loop at the end. I use a becket hitch to connect the kevlar strap to a continuous loop on my hammock. It's lightweight and super simple.
